United House Wrecking Started out as a demolition business in 1954
when houses were dismantled to make way for Interstate I 95. The Lodato family salvaged
doors, mantels, stained glass and other architectural remnants of value. The
store became a haven for unusual items with character, and expanded to include
the entire contents of homes.
Three generations and 55 years later, this family business
continues to flourish by offering a selection you won't find anywhere else. We
have become Connecticut's largest source of antiques and home décor. We
have a huge collection of architectural salvage including mantels, stained
glass, doors, newel posts, plumbing and hardware. The categories of furniture
and decor range from antiques & reproductions, to European pine, and home
office furniture. Casual dining room groups to formal mahogany dining rooms
from England. You'll find garden & patio furniture, garden & lawn
ornaments, cast iron urns, bronze statues, fountains, gazebos, and concrete
planters. Fantastic chandeliers and lighting, home décor, &
accessories of all kinds. |
United House Wrecking has
become direct importers from all over the world. With over 30,000 square feet
in the main building and a new Design Center, which opened in May of 2005
with an additional 13,000 square feet , all of New England comes here when they
want something unusual in antiques, architectural salvage and new &
reproduction furniture.
The new Design Center features new leather and upholstered furniture,
exquisite vignettes, more accessories and many new lines of fine furniture reproductions. Plus,
United House Wrecking has put together a design team. This is the place your family always told you about. New
shipments come in every week, so you'll have to plan to stop in often. We'll
look forward to seeing you. Wear comfortable shoes. It is worth a trip from
anywhere. |
