Fred Chicatell has made United House Wrecking his "home away from home" for nearly fifteen years. As the delivery manager, his work involves close interaction with nearly every customer who enters our doors, insuring that their treasures get safely to their homes.
Fred is also a sales expert in "all things architectural", the foundation product on which United House Wrecking was built; antique doors, mantels, stained glass windows, and other architectural elements. He also works with the outdoor products, gates and other structural items.
He comments, "The beauty of this place is in the history of the items themselves. We are constantly changing, developing new product, updating to keep pace with our consumers needs. But, for me, the excitement is in admiring a particularly beautiful old door or window, wondering about its original home, learning how it will add beauty to a home of today. Each day, each project, is fun and unique."

Fred enjoys spending time with his two daughters, who live nearby. But the latest joy in Fred's life is his eight month old granddaughter. He is her "sometime babysitter", and he'll proudly show you her latest photo, so just ask!
Motor cycling is his longtime leisure activity and when he isn't a t UHW sharing his love of antiques, you'll often find him on his Harley, exhibiting another side of his versatile personality.
So before you say, "Hi Fred when is my mantel coming?", ask "Hi Grandpa, been on that bike lately?"
