Stedman really loves the atmosphere at UHW--the surroundings, the people, the diversity of unique merchandise, "The up and down of every day makes it interesting" he comments. He has worked here for nearly 10 years, and has become a right hand to the owners and general manager. His workdays, as he says "up and down", may involve supervising the unloading of one or more of the fifty containers of merchandise that arrive at UHW, or overseeing the 18,000 square foot warehouse just down the street, and locating inventory for delivery. His consistent diligence has earned the respect of his team. He loves his work and it shows!
Stedman grew up in Jamaica, raised by his grandmother, aunt and uncle, so a close family is really important. What is relaxation for Stedman? Music on a Sunday, reggae preferably, a little time to play dominoes, a chance to cook his favorite Jamaican foods --- fish, oxtail, rice and beans. |
